Ritz-Carlton Montreal will exclusively debut a beautiful new line of uniforms this winter. New York City-based designer Eli Caner has collaborated with the iconic Montreal hotel for her label, Lady and Butler, on a series of new front-of-house uniforms. Eli created Lady and Butler as a fashion forward, style-driven uniform company focusing on creating bespoke and ready-to-wear garments for the hospitality industry. The sophisticated new uniforms – specially designed for the hotel – will launch in February 2016.
Inspired by the hotel’s iconic colours and interiors, the Lady and Butler uniforms will feature intricate details in the designs, as well as custom made polka dot prints that are akin to the circles on the wallpaper around the hotel. The exact print has been replicated to make ties and pocket squares. Women and men will have specially designed uniforms; concierges will wear purple ties with black dots; and the front desk team will conversely wear black ties with purple polka dots.
“I wanted to design something classic but with a new contemporary twist,” said Eli Caner, Lady and Butler. “The uniforms all feature design details, such as a shawl lapel and deep purple tonality that represents the iconic colours of the Ritz-Carlton Montreal. Womenswear designs centre on blazer dresses with black satin shawl lapels and purple welt pocket details. Menswear will feature purple button detail on the sleeve. Finally, a coated cotton trench coat with purple stitching can be worn during rainy days and a shawl lapel long coat with hand knitted hats with a purple detail for cold winter nights.”
